Or whether we both see the color orange the same way.

Tiberius knows a lot about movies. I know relatively little. I just feel them strongly. Does that mean I don't feel them as strongly as does he? I suppose we can't ever know...

Dear Diary,

I think Dave has a crush on me! What should I do? If only there were some way to know...

Dear Bad Critic,

In responding to your snarky/on-point comment, I will begin by quoting Ebert (may he live forever by replacing his failing body parts with robot parts, one by one, over the course of several centuries), in another of his Wrong Reviews. I speak of his critique of "Team America: World Police", in which he allows his political and/or moral feelings to override his ability to appreciate a smartly crafted comedy with a serious point. In keeping with critic-quoting tradition, I will quote only the parts that are convenient for my message.

R.E.: "If I were asked to extract a political position from the movie, I'd be baffled. It is neither for nor against the war on terrorism, just dedicated to ridiculing those who wage it and those who oppose it...I wasn't offended by the movie's content so much as by its nihilism. At a time when the world is in crisis and the country faces an important election, the response of Parker, Stone and company is to sneer at both sides -- indeed, at anyone who takes the current world situation seriously. They may be right that some of us are puppets, but they're wrong that all of us are fools, and dead wrong that it doesn't matter."

Oh dear Roger, they specifically said that both sides have an important point and need to listen to the other's perspective!

But heck, I've allowed my moral feelings on this issue to divert me from the real point I was making: In these past 2 posts, I was emptying thoughts/feelings out of my esophagus, mostly because I think there's value in emptying them, but partly with the notion that another person's perspective might be good food-for-thought.

Ok, now I've forgotten what point I was making, but I do know this: your comment reminded me of the Parker & Stone of Ebert's misguided imagination. For some reason, it feels nihilistic. Or maybe just tangential. Not sure...

Dude, I didn't realize this blog was going to be about your vagina. My bad.

But hey. Thanks for obliquely referring to my comment as "a smartly crafted comedy with a serious point". However, I have serious doubts as to whether either one of us has a point at all. Let's cut our losses on this post.
